Iran-Qatar cooperation committee meets in Tehran
Speaking at the opening session of the commission, Mottaki reiterated the policy of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's government to promote Iran's bilateral relations with Persian Gulf littoral states including Qatar.
Pointing to the long history of Tehran-Doha all-out relations, Mottaki called for continuation of cordial ties between the two countries.
The Iranian minister referred to the "excellent" level of political ties between Iran and Qatar, adding that the two states enjoyed good cooperation in the field of trade, energy and joint investment.
Mottaki added that 40 documents on bilateral cooperation have so far been signed by the officials of the two countries and more agreements are prepared to be inked in the fields of fisheries and tourism during the ongoing gathering.
Al-Mahmud and Qatari Minister of Finance Yusif Husayn al-Kamal who also attended the commission, stressed, for their parts, the need for broadening of Tehran-Doha cooperation as well as implementation of previously signed agreements.
